Internship Focus Area

Who Can Apply – Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Students:

  • Must be in the final year of a full-time B.E./B.Tech course.
  • Should have completed 6 semesters and will enter the 7th semester in August 2025.
  • No backlogs in the first five semesters.

Postgraduate Students:

  • Students enrolled in the second year of M.Tech or M.Sc. in relevant disciplines.
  • Must be pursuing a full-time course from an AICTE/UGC-approved institute.

Branch Codes and Eligible Disciplines

  • CS – Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, IT, Information Security, Cyber Security
  • EC – Electronics, ECE, Instrumentation
  • PH – Physics
  • MA – Mathematics and Statistics

Cybersecurity students fall under the CS category, which has a substantial number of 40 internship seats available at SAG, Delhi.


Selection Procedure

Selection is based purely on academic merit. Applicants with a CGPA of 8.5 (or 85%) and above from recognized institutions will be considered. Final selection will involve either an interview or interaction, as deemed necessary by the board. Selected candidates will be contacted via email.

Any application with errors, incomplete data, or delayed submissions will be rejected without notification.

Required Documents at Joining

  1. No Objection Certificate (original) from the respective college
  2. Police Verification Certificate
  3. Undertakings under:
    • Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923
    • IT Rules applicable under the Ministry of Defence
  4. Aadhaar card (original and copy)
  5. Cancelled bank cheque (for stipend transfer)
  6. Academic transcripts of all previous semesters

Stipend Details

The internship offers a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, which will be disbursed in two equal installments:

  • ₹15,000 after successful completion of the first three months.
  • ₹15,000 after completing the full six-month duration.

Note that expenses related to lodging, food, transport, or healthcare are not covered by DRDO. Interns must manage these independently.

Internship Terms

  • Interns will not be allowed to take leave, except for valid sick leave supported by a doctor’s prescription.
  • National holidays observed by the lab will apply.
  • Failure to complete the internship or withdrawal before three months will forfeit stipend and certificate eligibility.
  • Completion of the internship does not guarantee any job offer from DRDO.
  • The organization reserves the right to amend selection criteria or cancel applications at any time.

Key Dates

  • Application Deadline: 10 days from the date of advertisement (i.e., by 13th July 2025)
  • Selection Results: 25th July 2025
  • Internship Start Date: 1st August 2025
